Corey Shepherd
National Membership Director


Corey Shepherd was born in Enfield, Illinois, attended high school in Crossville, Tennessee and currently attends Auburn University in Alabama. He is currently a senior in Marketing with a focus on Mass Media Promotion. Growing up in a middle class family attracted Corey to the Democratic Party early in life as he campaigned for Bill Clinton in his second grade classroom and again in his sixth grade classroom. His involvement grew over the years including membership in and activism with the Young Democrats in high school.
Corey joined the Auburn University College Democrats in the fall of 2003. He served out the remaining term of the retiring Membership Director, where he worked on coalition building with other progressive campus organizations, building an Auburn College Dems Alumni Association and bringing students to Facebook after its advent. In the spring of 2005, Corey was elected as Vice President of his chapter and elected Membership Director for the new Alabama College Democrats state federation. He served as the President of the Alabama College Democrats for the 2006-2007 school year.

Corey interned for an Alabama State Congressional race that became the most expensive house race in the state's history. Even though the candidate lost the general election, while working on the campaign over 800 new voters were registered and an estimated 60% of voters split their ballot.

Corey currently resides in Auburn, AL with his Miniature Dachshund, Tucker, and his Persian cat, Simmi. He enjoys fly-fishing, Jeopardy and crossword puzzles. He has an extensive record collection and expands it frequently at antique malls, secondhand stores and flea markets across America **hello**
